New BSLA Committee Chairs Announced

EMERGING PROFESSIONALS CHAIR: Lindsey Miller

Lindsey Miller, ASLA, relocated to Boston after finishing her Master’s in Landscape Architecture at the University of Michigan.  Prior to graduate school, she lived in Pittsburgh and worked in the non-profit sector focusing on ecology and community development. Lindsey is currently working at Pressley Associates and spends her free time exploring Boston (and it’s gardens) with her puppy. Despite being fairly new to the city and the profession, she is very excited to fulfill the role as the Emerging Professionals Chair. She takes over this role from Glenn Bayfield who managed the role for the past year.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR: Elena Saporta

Elena Saporta, ASLA, LEED AP, has been in private practice in Cambridge for twenty years.  She holds a master's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Saporta currently serves as  vice chair of the Sierra Club Greater Boston Group.  A founder of CREATe (Cambridge Renewable Energy Action Team), she recently launched an environmental film series with the City of Cambridge.

She succeeds Deb Michener of Stantec who led the Committee for the past three years.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE CHAIR: Tim Nickerson

Tim Nickerson, ASLA has been involved in land planning and design for nearly fifteen years.  Prior to receiving his BSLA from the University of Massachusetts, Tim was elected to the Board of Education and, subsequently, the Board of Aldermen in Nashua, NH.  He has also served on the boards of many non-profits and has been heavily involved in local Nashua politics.  Tim is currently the Director of Design + Marketing at Environmental Pools in Chelmsford.

Tim has served as Student Liaison for the past year. Those duties will now be handled by the Emerging Professionals Committee
